A new member asks a gym receptionist about memberships, prices and opening hours, then gives her name, address and mobile number. This practises IELTS Listening Section 1: catching spelled names, prices, times and phone numbers, and a self-correction distractor.

Speaker 1:
Hi, I was wondering if you could tell me a bit about your membership options. I've just moved to the area.
Speaker 2:
Sure, no worries. We've got two main options, really. There's the standard membership, which is fifty-five dollars a fortnight, and that gives you access to the gym floor and the pool.
Speaker 1:
Right. And what about classes? I'd really like to do yoga, so would that be included?
Speaker 2:
Not with the standard one, no. For classes you'd need the premium membership, which works out at seventy-two dollars a fortnight. If you sign up before the end of the month, though, there's no joining fee.
Speaker 1:
Oh, that's good to know. I think I'd go for the premium, then. What time do you open in the mornings? I'd probably come before work.
Speaker 2:
We open at half past six on weekdays, sorry, half past five, and seven on weekends. Then we close at ten every night except Sunday, when it's eight.
Speaker 1:
Half past five, great. That'd suit me perfectly. So, what do you need from me to get started?
Speaker 2:
I'll just take a few details. Can I get your full name, please?
Speaker 1:
It's Priya Delaney. That's P, R, I, Y, A, and then Delaney is D, E, L, A, N, E, Y.
Speaker 2:
Lovely. And what's your address, Priya?
Speaker 1:
It's unit three, forty Banksia Street, Brunswick. And my mobile is oh four one two, three eight six, nine five seven.
Speaker 2:
Perfect. I'll pop that into the system now, and you can start on the premium membership from tomorrow morning.
